Along with the declaration of the IISc Banglore GATE 2024 result, the authorities will also release the subject-wise cutoff. Only those candidates who will meet the cutoff will be declared qualified. The GATE cutoff 2024 is yet to be released. In the meantime, candidates can check the previous year’s GATE cutoff.
Successful candidates must utilize the GATE COAP and CCMT portals for counseling purposes. The GATE counseling and admission process for IITs is facilitated by the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP), while Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. (CCMT) is conducted for admissions into NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, and GFTIs.

The COAP, or Common Offer Acceptance Portal, is a platform that allows candidates to apply for M.Tech programs or job offers from participating PSUs. Those with valid GATE scores in 2024 must register at both COAP and the institute's portal to be considered for admission. Seat allotment results will be published on the COAP portal by all participating IITs and IISc Bangalore. Candidates can use the portal to check their seat allotment status and accept or reject the seat.
CCMT stands for Centralized Counselling for M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan Admission. It is the portal through which admission to the M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan programmes offered at various institutes including NITs, IIEST Shibpur, some IIITs, and CFITs is conducted. Candidates with valid GATE scores must register on the CCMT portal, where the seat allotment results are also released by the authority.

he Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is held for admission to the Master's programmes. Moreover, the GATE score is used by public sector companies for recruitment purposes. Candidates with valid GATE score has two options after the GATE entrance exam i.e. admission and recruitment.
Admission is open to candidates who have successfully cleared the GATE entrance exam. They can apply for Master programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in various fields such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, and Arts. Additionally, government agencies and institutes supported by the Ministry of Education offer Doctoral programmes in relevant disciplines of Arts and Science.
Various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) take into account the GATE score when hiring. Here is a compilation of PSUs that provide employment opportunities to candidates who have qualified the GATE exam. These include Maharatna PSUs such as BHEL, GAIL, IOCL, SAIL, and more. The GATE is an entrance exam at the PG level that is conducted collectively by the seven IITs situated in Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai, Roorkee, and IISc Bengaluru. It is organized on behalf of the NCB, GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, commonly known as GATE, is an entrance exam conducted for admission to M.E/M.Tech programmes at IITs and other institutes that consider GATE scores.
