Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has become a synonym to excellence. Situated on the National Highway 205A, Chandigarh Group of Colleges bespeaks A-class educational facilities. CGC, Landran has come a long way in the field of education. In the year 2001, it got incepted with a hope to bridge the gap between inquisitive minds and education.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has been a symbol for excellence. It is located along the National Highway 205A, Chandigarh Group of Colleges boasts the best in educational facilities. CGC, Landran has come quite a way in the educational field. In 2001, it was established with the intention of bridging the gap between curious minds and the world of education. In the beginning, Engineering was the flagship program offered at CGC, Landran and with time, more and more programs were added to the program. CGC currently has 45 programs that fall under seven areas, including Engineering Biotechnology Computer Application Management, Education Pharmacy, Hotel Management.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran is affiliated to I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University and is endorsed through the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran programs are offered at various levels such as undergraduate degree i.e. BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm. ) as well as of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Biotechnology, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor in the field of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and so on, postgraduate degree i.e. Masters of Science (M.Sc.) Biotechnology Masters of Technology (M. Tech.) Electronics and Communication Engineering, and many more. Library:
The library is equipped with over 40,000 books covering a variety of subjects. The college subscribes to more than 10 e-journals , and offers 125 online courses. The central library houses an extensive collection of over 205682 titles, and subscriptions to over 200 magazines, journals and other publications. There are also more than 136 video lessons created by faculties at IITs for students. It can hold more than 300 students.
Cafeteria:
The cafeteria is fitted with modern furnishings, electricity automatic cooking facilities and storage and serves hot meals and snacks, breakfast and beverages to staff, faculty and students members. The college also offers Subway along with Cafe Coffee Day. The college can accommodate over 500 students.
Hostels:
The college offers separate hostels for girls and boys. The hostels are furnished with attached washrooms as well as the common room is equipped with a television. The hostel offers an air-cooler service. It also offers 24 hours a day electricity and water as well as a clean and tidy mess area.
Gym:
The gym at the college is separate facilities for girls and boys. These gyms are and conditioned. Trainers and instructors are on hand all day long to instruct the students. The gyms are outfitted with appropriate equipment like treadmills and power lifting machines, among others. The gyms can house up to 150-200 students at one time.
Facilities for Sports:
The college offers a range of outdoor and indoor games facilities. The college offers Badminton court tennis court, the basketball court and table tennis, etc. to keep the students.
The admission process for admission to CGC Landran is done on the basis of GATE JEE Main, MAT, Punjab MET scores.
The Placement Cell of the college is actively welcoming businesses to the campus to find students. The final drive for placement was completed with 7400 job opportunities. More than 775 firms were on campus to recruit. The largest package available to students was 40 lakhs. The top companies that visit the campus to attract students are: Google, Amazon, Idea, Dell, IBM, Cipla, Hitachi.
The institute provides various scholarships available to meritorious students in various classes. Below are the specifics for each:
For the SC/STFor SC/ST OBCfor SC/ST/ OBC Minority Communities: These scholarships are given to students who are financially poor. The college provides Post-matric/ Matric cum awards to students belonging to the reserved categories (from Punjab State only) and minorities.
Central Government Scholarships: This scheme provides aid to students who have disabilities.
Jammu & Kashmir Scholarship Scheme under this scheme, the college grants financial assistance to students with an ongoing residence of Jammu & Kashmir.
Pragati Women's Scholarship Program: It scheme is open to female students during the very first year of the program.
Saksham scholarships for differently Able Students: This scholarship is available to students that have been selected by centralised counseling.
