Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is first University established in 1998 by Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999 The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section 12B of UGC Act. The eligibility criteria for the Merit Scholarship to Minorities students in Colleges/Professional/Technical Institutions are as follows:
The student should be studying in a recognized college/professional/technical institution.
The student should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the previous academic year.
The family income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum. The income proof, in the form of an income certificate issued by competent authorities of GNCT of Delhi, is required at the time of application submission.
Students receiving stipends from institutions/governments during the course of study are also eligible for the merit scholarship.
If a student fails the annual examination but continues studies, except in cases where the student fails to appear in the annual examination due to medical grounds, natural calamities, or any other valid reason, the rate of the scholarship will be reduced to 50%.
