Central Library of GKU Bathinda was established as the Library of Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic College, Talwandi Sabo in the year of 1998. Later on, the other two libraries of Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering, and Guru Gobind Singh College of Education merged into the Central Library at the time of establishment of Guru Kashi University in the year of 2012.
