JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, formerly known as JSS University, is a Deemed to be University located in Mysuru, Karnataka. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions.
The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) was formerly Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University. It is an institute of higher learning that offers degrees in several disciplines. Located in Mysore, Karnataka, India, it was founded in 1956. During this time, the AHER was known as the JSS University. It offers degrees in engineering, medicine, business administration, and humanities.
The JSS AHER has over 700 faculty members and 7000+ undergraduate students. There are 500 research scholars that have contributed to the research conducted by the Academy. WiFi is available throughout the campus and the college has excellent IT infrastructure. Each room has a lock to protect valuables and personal items. The cost of the accommodation depends on the number of people occupying the room.
The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research Mysuru has separate hostels for girls and boys. The rooms are fully furnished and equipped with basic amenities. The university has a gym with all the necessary gym equipment. For convenience, the academy has several libraries. The JSS Medical College Library, JSS Dental College & Hospital Library, and JSS College of Pharmacy (Mysuru) each contain a plethora of books for students.
