National Institute of Technology, Warangal (Deemed University) , formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for this institute on October 10, 1959, the first in the chain of 30 NITs (formerly known as RECs) in the country.
National Institute of Technology, NIT Warangal established in 2002 and Government of India decided to create Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs). In addition, there was they also adopted the Quality Technical Education Policy - one for each primary state. Therefore, the main goal was to provide high-quality technical education across the nation and to promote national integration. Today, the Institution was established through Jawaharlal Nehru. In addition, it was part of the original chain of 30 NITs that were established in India.
