The R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) founded in 1963 is one of the first self-funded engineering schools in the country. The institution is run by Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) a not-for-profit trust. The trust operates over 25 institutions and RVCE is the trust's flagship institution.RVCE is now recognized as one of India's leading technical institutions.

Residential Accommodation:

There are four BOYS Hostels on the campus catering to over 1200 inmates. There are two Ladies' Hostels located near the college. All the hostels on the campus are equipped with modern kitchen equipment and solar heating facility. Hostels are provided with Internet & common TV Room, Indoor Games facilities.

Library:

The department of library and Information Center was established in the year 1963 currently with three technical staff: library professionals and five non-technical staff. The library has an extensive collection of books, reference works, bound volumes, national technical and international journals, e-books, e-journals, encyclopedias, and other multimedia resources, document collection volume is 172639. Library subscribes to 233 technical journals 23 technical magazines and 15 daily newspapers which include English and Kannada.

Health Care:

Six bedded fully equipped health center with one isolation ward with High Tech infrastructure and all latest equipment available. 

Sports:

The sports facilities include an Indoor Basketball court, Indoor shuttle Badminton court, Synthetic Tennis court, Football, and Cricket grounds, spread over 25500 sqm. m. Multi Gym. Facility & fitness center. 

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The Institute has a Spacious and modern Food Court & Cafeteria Facility on the campus with a well-equipped modern & hygienic kitchen with a separate cooking area.
