About Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay founded its management school in 1995 with the aim of transforming professionals into future leaders. In  2000, the school was named  Shailesh J.Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM). Today, the school is at the forefront of preparing graduates to meet the new challenges of business, by drawing on the varied intellectual resources of IITB and providing outstanding and innovative programs in management education.

Residential Accommodation

Distinct inns for boys and girls are available on the university campus with high security. Boys and Girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi facilities for UG and PG, which can accommodate around 450 students each with good infrastructure. A college van and car are always available to meet guests' emergency needs. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. The library

the treasury of books and periodicals - is the center of intellectual activity in any institution. The Central Library works for its readers with a concern for creativity and innovation,  predecessors of Research and Development. The general library of our college was established in  2000. It has a well-equipped library that accumulates over 45,024 volumes of selected books in various engineering, management, and basic, and general science subjects. The library subscribes to over 143 printed periodicals. The library also has 1531 bound volumes of periodicals. Audiovisual educational programs and video lessons often take place in the library. Mensa  It is immaculate and very well maintained. Provides good quality fresh snacks, cold drinks, coffee, tea, and other food items in a hygienic and healthy way that fits in the student's pocket.

Sport

SPIKE club is responsible for planning and organizing sports activities and events at SJMSOM. PRITHVI and SOM LEAGUE are two major exciting events organized by SPIKE, each one of them ensuring that the campus comes alive with the passion and adrenaline rush of sports events.  SPIKE club takes pride in being known as one of the most popular clubs on campus as it comes with various exciting events throughout the year and awakens the hidden sportsman in every SJMSOM individual. Being part of IIT Bombay we have the best sports facilities in the entire country and we utilize the same to the fullest.

Computer Laboratory

The School provides access to some of the best computing facilities in the country. IIT Bombay has a gigabit Ethernet network that connects all academic buildings, faculty residences, and student hostels. Network outlets are provided in each hostel room.

The School has an annual, on-campus, placement process that is coordinated by the Faculty Placement Coordinator with support from a student placement committee. The placement process begins with Pre-placement talks by companies, usually scheduled between the months of October and December. Elaborate and carefully planned slotting criteria are used to slot interested companies for the placement process. The Pre-placement talks are followed by the Lateral Placement Process, which is tailor-made for the recruitment of students with prior work experience. This is immediately followed by the Final Placement Process.
