Swarnim Gujarat Sports University was established in 2011 by Government of Gujarat and is UGC approved. Swarnim Gujarat Sports University (SGSU) is a state University located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat with an upcoming headquarters in Vadodara district. It is a residential and afflicting university.
The Swarnim Gujarat Sports University was established in 2011, to provide education to aspiring sportspersons and develop sports in the state. The university offers several certificates and postgraduate diploma courses in various disciplines including sports psychology, sports journalism, and athletic training. The University is also known for its international collaborations. Swarnim Gujarat Sports University has partnered with various foreign universities to conduct various research projects and sports events.
The university was affiliated with UGC (University Grants Commission). According to research, the university got the 450th place in India.

The campus' Placement Cell aims to develop a strong link between sports companies and students. The Placement Cell organizes pre-placement talks, mock interviews, and Industry-Academic interfaces. In addition, the summer placement of candidates is organized.
