Chennai Women's Christian College is Ranked #1 Among All Women's Colleges in South India by MHRD in NIRF Ranking 2017, it is known for its high standards of education and outstanding achievement in teaching, learning, research, and dissemination activities. Autonomous since 1982, WCC is affiliated with Madras University and was accredited by NAAC with an “A” grade in 2005 and 2012. The College has been awarded the prestigious status of College with Potential for Excellence by the UniversityGrants Commission (UGC) in 2016, an adequate testament to the remarkable progress made over the past century.

The Department of Physical Education focuses on developing the "whole person potential" of students by developing their physical fitness and honing their athletic skills. To excel in sports, students are offered training in basketball, volleyball, throwing handball, handball, football, badminton, cricket, badminton, table tennis, chess, and athletics. Campus support and facilities allow players to compete in zonal, interzonal, varsity, district, state, and national level tournaments. To promote health and an active lifestyle, fitness activities such as aerobics, yoga, silambam, taichi, karate, Zumba, traditional dances, and basic functional training are designed and delivered to meet individual student needs and interests.
The Information Resource Center, the old library was originally located on the top floor of Doveton House with a collection of books donated by college friends. Mrs.James Sidney Allen, chairman of the American Association Board, laid the foundation stone for the new library building on January 281966 and a time capsule, the second of its kind at the WCC with staff and student signatures, is buried in the foundation. The American Associate Board and UGC helped with the funds for this project and the alumniMount Holyoke College generously stocked the library with books, periodicals, and newspapers. Currently, 91345 m². The 420-seat library building houses an additional 92,000 paper documents and a wide range of resources. The library is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all working days and is open to all students and staff of the college. In addition to the required standard infrastructure, the library is Wi-Fi enabled and has a fully automated library management system with barcode/RFID functionality.
Overseas Bank of India Bank Extension Counter, College Road Branch, and ATM caters to the needs of students on campus every working day from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Resident students are encouraged to open an account with the bank.
The canteen operates from 07:30 to 18:00Healthy food is available in the canteen.No credit accounts are allowed in restaurants. Cutlery must not leave the canteen.

Central Government ScholarshipPost-Marriage Minority Scholarship This scholarship is offered by the central government to students from minority communities such as Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, etc. The scholarship is offered based on the parents' income. Announcements are made by the government through an advertisement in the newspaper. Students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

3. Management Scholarship - The Management Scholarship is a scholarship cum merit and it is sanctioned based on departmental recommendations and at the discretion of the dean.
