An M.Tech in Rock Engineering and Underground Structure course comes as two years full-time postgraduate course. This course is provided by only the Indian Institute of Technology, all over India. Course do required completion of 48 credits which involve 18 credits for Lectures or Practicals, 18 credits for a project initiated and performed by M.Tech students, and 12 credits for program elective. Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech in Rock Engineering and Underground Structure

The Course is for B.E. / B.Tech students who have completed their graduation. The candidate must be equivalent with 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or required percentage. B.Tech students from IITs having a CGPA of 8.00 are also eligible without appearing for the GATE exam. Candidates of Associate Member of Institution of Engineers or Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers who fulfill the above-mentioned eligibility criteria can be considered in the admission process as a visiting student for completing 24 credits earned during their respective undergraduate course. After this, they still have to appear for the GATE exam and then apply for admission to the M.Tech program. 

Fee Structure of M.Tech Engineering and Underground Structure M.Tech course

The total course fee for two years post-graduation is Rs.2.29 Lakhs for this IIT Delhi institute. Hostel fees are excluded as Rs. 21,000 per year, as it is allotted only to full-time students appearing for this course.

Admission Process for M.Tech Engineering and Underground Structure 

  • Candidates interested in this course have to initially register on the website of the institution by filling in all the required information.
  • Candidates should be aware of the important dates for the application process along with GATE.
  • After this, candidates are shortlisted based on their respective scores obtained in the GATE exam.
  • These shortlisted candidates are then called for a written test or interview.
  • Those students who have scored more than 75% in graduation along with a minimum qualifying score in the GATE exam need not appear for written tests or interviews.
  • After completion of all the above processes candidates are selected based on the score obtained in GATE and their performance in the written test and interview qualifying exam.
