AIIMS MBBS 2026 Overview of the Selection Process

The selection of AIIMS MBBS 2026 will include registration, followed by counseling and document verification. AIIMS MBBS is selection-based on merits obtained in the examination conducted by AIIMS, wherein the basic requisites are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and general knowledge. Shortlisted students will be those who qualify for the counseling stage by meeting the eligibility criteria and performing commendably above the cutoff marks in the entrance examination. The final selection will be based on performance and the number of seats available.

AIIMS MBBS 2026 Selection Process Steps

The selection of candidates for the AIIMS MBBS 2026 is a three-step affair which is developed as follows:

1. Verification of Application: All candidates shall be required to fill in an online application which is available on AIIMS official website.
2. Written Examination: This shall include a test on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge for the MBBS AIIMS entrance examination.
3. Result Notification: There will be a passing announcement of the AIIMS MBBS exam and candidates shall be awarded positions based on their outcome.
4. Shortlisting of Candidates: In this case, it will be a candidate who possesses a rank in the examination who will be eligible to attend the counseling so as to select the medical branches and institutions of his/her liking.
5. Candidate Verification: In this case, candidates will be undergoing a verification of documents. This will occur during the time of counseling.
6. Candidate Registration: After verifying documents and counseling, candidates will be allowed admission into the MBBS at AIIMS course after meeting the eligibility criteria of all the stages.

For the candidates who wish to be a part of the AIIMS MBBS 2026 selection process, there are age and qualification requirements that must be fulfilled. Applicants need to possess at least a clear pass in the 10+2 system or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with an aggregate of 60 percent (50 percent for candidates from SC/ST). Also, applicants need to be at least 17 years of age on or before the 31st of December for the year in which admission is sought. The merits will, in the final determination, depend on the AIIMS MBBS rank obtained by the candidate in the admission test, and only those candidates who qualify the test will be able to attend the counseling for admission.

AIIMS MBBS 2026 Documents Required and Selection Process

It is important that applicants present their documents for verification for the selection stage in the AIIMS MBBS 2026 examination. Without these documents, the qualifications and the person of the applicant cannot be verified. Hence, Valid photo ID cards issued by the Government Agency, including but not limited to Aadhar card, 10+2 certificates, birth certificate, caste certificate (where applicable), photographs, etc., are some of the necessary documents.
