The General Knowledge section of BHU UET seeks to measure the candidates’ awareness of current events, past events, geography, economics, and the natural and social sciences.
This mainly deals with topics such as: - Contemporary Issues (Domestic and Global) - Sequential Events According to Chronology – Selection Of Themes (Country Geography – India And Other Countries) – Economic and political science – Games and Culture
This section assesses the skill to think critically, reason logically and solve problems. The topics covered in this are: - Alphanumeric series and Coded Numbers - Syllogisms and Venn diagrams - Analytical Reasoning - Direction Sense and Blood Relations - Puzzles and Seating Arrangements
The examination tests (a) in the Physics section the knowledge of the student in various concepts taught in high school. For students applying to BSc (Mathematics), the Mathematics syllabus includes the following topics: a) Algebra, which includes Quadratic equations and Matrices. b) Calculus, which covers Differentiation and Integration. c) Probability. d) Trigonometry, which covers Functions and Identities. e) Coordinate Geometry.
The English section examines a student’s proficiency in the language. The topics which are covered include (but are not limited to): Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary in the form of Synonyms and Antonyms, Grammar that deals with Tenses and Sentence Structure, as well as Writing Skills that consist of Essay and Precis Writing.
