FMGE 2024: eligibility criteria

It is very important for candidates who want to participate in FMGE 2024 to know and fulfil the eligibility requirements set by NBE. Detailed Eligibility for the FMGE 2024 June Session is given below.

1. Nationality: Foreign medical graduates must be citizens of India or citizens of a foreign country in India.
2. Educational Qualification:

(a) Candidates must possess a primary medical qualification from an approved institution to be certified by the concerned Indian Embassy of the concerned country.

(b) Applicants must submit the required documents to prove that they are qualified to undergo a basic medical examination on or before the specified date.

(c) The result of the final examination for the said primary medical degree should be declared on or before October 31, 2024.National Eligibility Requirements: Doctors who have completed their undergraduate and graduate medical degrees in the following countries, do not have to appear for the FMGE December Exam for permanent or temporary registration. Such candidates can directly register with MCI or SMC for certification and continue their practice in India:

FMGE 2024 application form (June session)

NBE released the FMGE application form on the official website online mode. Candidates can fill FMGE application for the June session in six steps which include registration, login, personal and academic details, payment of application and printouts. Candidates are advised to fill in the details of the FMGE 2024 application form carefully.

FMGE 2024 eligibility criteria - Who is non-eligible?

1. In addition to FMGE eligibility, here are some guidelines to explain why and when a medical candidate is considered eligible to attend the June 2024 FMGE session.
2. Applicants who do not submit the required documents by the deadline will not receive the FMGE. The necessary documents can be submitted to the controlling authority after filling out the FMGE 2024 application form.
3. Falsified documents or information submitted by the candidates at any time during admission will not be considered to fulfil FMGE 2024 eligibility criteria.
4. If the primary medical degree for medical graduates is obtained after the deadline, the applicant will be considered ineligible as per the June 2024 FMGE guidelines.

Application Process for FMGE 2024

1. Online Registration: Applicant must register through the official website and online portal of NBE within the specified date
2. Submission of Documents: Scan submitted required documents like degree certificates, eligibility certificates and passport-size photographs and upload.
3. Payment of Fee: The application fee has to be made payable through the preferred online gateway.

Important Dates of FMGE 2024

1. Application Start Date: It should be noted that often the application process for the June session may start in April and for the December session – in October.
2. Last Date to Apply: This means that the last day for application is often one month before the dates stated in the advertisement.
3. Exam Date: This exam is run twice a year that is June and December.

FMGE 2024: Examination Pattern

1. Mode of Examination: It is also important to note that the FMGE is now administered as a computer-based test.
2. Exam Structure: The exam has two parts each having 150 MCQs.
3. Duration: Part 1 lasts 150 minutes and Part 2 lasts 150 minutes.
