JCECEB has released the JCECE 2025 eligibility criteria on the official website jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Candidates who want to be admitted to the B.Tech course in Jharkhand must fulfil JCECE eligibility criteria. Students who do not meet the JCECE 2025 eligibility requirements will not be considered. Jharkhand Joint Entrance Examination Board will conduct JCECE 2025 on 28 April 2025.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria 2025

Eligibility criteria for JCECE 2025 include age criteria, education, birth, nationality and other conditions. Entrance examination of Jharkhand B.Tech courses is conducted only for Dairy Technology and Agriculture Technology courses.

The board will release the eligibility criteria for JCECE 2025 in conjunction with the official notification. Only candidates who meet all JCECE 2025 eligibility criteria will be considered for the exam. JCECEB is responsible for regulating the entrance examination requirements. The basic criteria are fixed and compulsory for all students. Candidates should check the standards and requirements for specific courses before applying. JCECE 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Highlights

Eligibility criteria contain some factors that decide whether the candidate is eligible for the exam or not as per the set of eligibility criteria which include residence, age limit, reservation, education, and more. There are both course-specific and general eligibility requirements. The purpose of this article is to give you an overview of the JCECE qualification requirements.

The basic eligibility criteria for JCECE 2025 are as follows:

  1. The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  2. The candidate must be a local/ permanent resident in the State of Jharkhand to be eligible for the JCECE.
  3. The candidates should belong to the below-mentioned age groups. The age criteria for each course may vary.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria: Based on Residence

Local residence certificates are mandatory documents required when we apply for JCECE. Applicant must be born in Jharkhand to obtain a resident certificate. Eligibility requirements based on residency are as follows.

  1. The candidate or their parents or guardians must be a resident of Jharkhand for not less than 15 years.
  2. One of the parents must be a government official for the Jharkhand government or the GOI but was moved for service to Jharkhand.
  3. The applicant or his parents must be the owner of a property or business approved by the Government of Jharkhand.
  4. Candidates must have completed 7 years (or more) in a school located in Jharkhand.
  5. Candidates must have passed the subsequent examinations from any Jharkhand educational institution for admission in graduation programs from a recognized university. Candidates must pass their qualifying examination.
  6. For admission in a university or intermediate board exam, 12th/ any equivalent qualifying examination will be considered and class 8 marks.
  7. For other cases, class 4 marks are considered.
  8. The resident certificate of a spouse is also considered.
  9. If the candidate’s parent is a Defence Personnel but has not been called for service in Jharkhand, the candidate is not required to have studied at a Jharkhand institution.
  10. Wife and children of All-India Service officers are also considered as Jharkhand citizens.
  11. Candidates who are children of retired Defence Servicemen will not be required to submit the Local Resident Certificate during JCECE 2024 counselling.
  12. Candidates will be considered as Local Residents if their parent is in Jharkhand as a registered migrant.
  13. Kashmiri migrants don’t require this certificate.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria: Based on Domicile

Candidates must be well aware of the criteria and ensure that they fulfil the needed requirements to be eligible for the JCECE 2024.

  1. As per the domicile by the Government of Jharkhand, the candidate must be a resident.
  2. During the JCECE 2024 counselling, candidates must present their Local Resident Certificate.

JCECE Course-specific Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects from any recognized board.

B.Sc (Hons) Forestry/Agriculture

The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and either Biology or Mathematics from any recognized board.

B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture

The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with PCB/ PCM/ PCMB/ PC Forestry /Agriculture from any recognized board.

B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering & Dairy Technology)

The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized board.

B.F.Sc

The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent with PCB/PCMB or Inter(Agriculture) from any recognized board.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria: Based on Age Limit

Candidates must ensure they are within the JCECE age limits mentioned:

  1. B.V.Sc. & A.H: The candidate must have finished 17 years by December 31st of the year applying for admission. 
  2. B.Tech/ B.Sc. Agriculture, Forestry & Horticulture/ B.F.Sc: The aspirants must have completed 17 years of age by Jul 1st of the year seeking admission. Also, the upper age limit to apply is 22 years of age. However, candidates turning 22 on Jul 1st of that year, will not be eligible.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria: Based on Reservation

JCECE 2025 eligibility criteria: Reservation for Disabled Candidates

Candidates with 40% disability in one of the following mentioned below can take admission to institutes under JCECEB, through the special reservation quota: 

  1. Vision Impairment (Blindness/ Low Vision)
  2. Hearing Impairment/ Deaf
  3. Locomotive Disability
  4. Autism or other types of special learning disabilities
  5. Multiple Disabilities

Note: Candidates availing admission through reservation must submit proofs and documents to support their claim during counselling.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria: Based on Medical Fitness

All candidates selected during the admission process will experience a government medical examination. Only those applicants who meet the required physical criteria will be considered for admission.
