Magadh University was established on March 1, 1962 as a consequence of the earnest wishes and efforts of the intellectuals and educationists of the Magadh region and also its foundation echoed the conversion of the long cherished dream of the people of Magadh into reality. The university is now governed by the Bihar State University Act 1976.
Aim at nurturing the talent of the students, promoting intellectual growth and shaping their personal development and remaining dedicated and steadfast in the pursuit of truth aligned with the motto of the University and serving humanity through the creation of socially responsible global citizens.
The mission of the University is to create and sustain a community of life-long learners in an environment that emphasises literacy, critical thinking of humanistic and scientific inquiry. It will provide a dynamic, challenging and ethical environment for pursuing high quality teaching, research, learning and service throughout the university where students, faculty members and other key constituents can interact.
