B.Sc. Math Honours is a bachelor's degree programme in mathematics. Structure, space, quantity, and change are all aspects of mathematics—the B.Sc. Apart from the fundamental Undergraduate degree in mathematics, students will study Discrete Mathematics and many theories in mathematics areas such as computer science or statistics.

This course develops an understanding of analytical skills as well as purposeful abilities and competencies in Mathematics. The curriculum focuses on the knowledge of essential applications of mathematical techniques to general issues outside theoretical mathematics.

Applicants with skills and abilities such as interpreting and analysing the resulting data, supervising and identifying patterns, drawing conclusions, conducting and designing observational and experimental studies, and a working knowledge of computer applications to assist the subjects are encouraged to apply. Another fundamental requirement is the capacity to approach problems analytically and rigorously and develop theories and use them to problems. The candidate must be able to demonstrate mathematical arguments and conclusions with clarity and correctness and have advanced numeracy abilities and the capacity to evaluate large volumes of information.

Candidates Must have passed in 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with at least 50% marks in Mathematics subject or in aggregate from a recognised board or Institute is the standard qualifying criterion for B.Sc. Math Honours degree programme.

The B.Sc. (Hons.) (Mathematics) degree provides a foundation for further higher education in this subject, such as M.Phil, M.Sc., PhD, Degree in Maths, the successful completion of which qualifies one for the lecturer position in any university/college.
