1. Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
• They should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects in their 10+2 curriculum.
• Minimum aggregate marks or percentage criteria may vary from one institution to another, but it's usually around 50-60%.
2. Entrance Examinations:
• Many institutions and universities in India require candidates to appear for national or state-level entrance examinations. Some of the prominent entrance exams for B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering include:
• Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main: Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it is the most widely accepted entrance exam for admission to top engineering colleges in India.
• BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test): For admission to BITS Pilani and other BITS campuses.
• State Entrance Examinations: Different states conduct their own entrance exams for engineering admissions, such as MHT-CET (Maharashtra), WBJEE (West Bengal), and more.
3. Application Process:
• Candidates need to fill out online application forms for the entrance exams they are eligible for.
• The application process usually involves providing personal details, and educational qualifications, uploading documents, and paying an application fee.
4. Admission Counseling:
• Based on the performance in the entrance exams, candidates are invited to participate in counselling sessions.
• During counselling, candidates can choose their preferred colleges and branches based on their ranks and the availability of seats.
5. Seat Allotment:
• After the counselling process, candidates are allotted seats in various engineering colleges based on their choices and rank.
• Candidates need to confirm their seats by paying the admission fee within the stipulated time.
6. Direct Admission:
• Some institutions may offer direct admission to candidates who meet certain eligibility criteria and have exceptional academic records.
• This is usually for a limited number of seats and is often available through management quota.
7. Reservation Quotas:
• In India, there are reservation quotas for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
• These quotas vary from state to state and institution to institution, and candidates belonging to these categories have a certain percentage of seats reserved for them.
8. Document Verification:
• Candidates need to provide necessary documents such as 10+2 mark sheets, identity proof, and other required certificates during the admission process.
9. Commencement of Classes:
• Once the admission process is complete, the academic session begins, and students start their B.Tech program in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
