About M.Ed

The Master of Education (M.Ed) is a master's degree program that focuses on the study of innovative teaching and educational research. The program focuses on teaching, curriculum, counseling, leadership, educational technology, and other facets of education. The National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) is the regulatory body in charge of the Master of Education program.

a)     The M.Ed. program lasts two years and is broken up into four semesters. However, a one-year Master of Education program is also offered by some colleges and universities. There are a variety of subjects and specializations covered in the course.

b)   Candidates can pursue an M.Ed. through regular or distance education. After completing the M.Ed. program, candidates can choose to work as counselors, administrators, headmasters, etc. as well as teachers.

Eligibility Requirements for the M.Ed.

Candidates who meet the following requirements are eligible for the MEd:

a)     Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree from a recognized college or university;

b)    Candidates must hold a B.Ed degree with the minimum required percentage, typically between 50 and 60 percent, as specified by the institution to which they are applying;

c)    Candidates who hold a Bachelor of Education Bachelor of Science in Education or Bachelor of Arts in Education or Education ,Ed (BSc Schooling)/MSc.

Candidates with teaching experience, a postgraduate degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities, and experience working in the State Board of Secondary and Senior Secondary Education or Directorate/ Inspectors of Education in the states may be given additional weightagstates
