Admission Procedure for BDS & MDS Courses

Admission to all seats is based on merit through online counseling conducted by the Karnataka Education Authority. NEET-qualified students are required to register on the Karnataka Examination Authority website for admission to BDS & MDS Courses (Government Quota Seats, Private Open Quota Seats, and NRI/Management Seats).

BDS Admissions:

Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually, securing a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined in the qualifying examination.  For Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Category I, the minimum prescribed marks are 40% instead of 50% for general candidates.

The candidate should have attained 17 years of age at the time of admission or will achieve this age by 31st December of the admission year.

Students from boards other than the pre-university board of Karnataka must produce an Eligibility Certificate issued by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, during BDS admission. 

Course Duration: 4 Years Plus One Year Compulsory Internship.

NEET qualification is mandatory.

MDS Admissions:

Candidates seeking admission to the MDS course must possess a recognized BDS degree awarded by an Indian University from a recognized Dental College under section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.  Additionally, candidates should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. Those without a recognized Dental qualification must secure prior approval from the Dental Council of India before enrolling in any University's MDS Course in India. 

Students from universities other than Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, must present an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, during MDS admission. 

Candidates should have completed a compulsory rotating internship of one year after passing the final professional examination before 30th April of the Academic year.

Course Duration: 3 Years.
