Admission 2024-25 - BMS College Of Architecture

Admission Requirements:

The Council of Architecture (Minimum Standard of Architectural Education, Regulations 2020) defines the admission criteria for the architecture program:

 Candidates aspiring for admission to the architecture course must have completed the 10+2 scheme (12th Std or II-PUC) examination with a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics.  Alternatively, they should have passed the 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Moreover, candidates are required to have appeared and cleared the aptitude test in architecture, conducted by either NTA (JEE) or "NATA" by the Council of Architecture. 

To qualify for admission to the 1st year of the 5-year bachelor’s degree in architecture Program for the academic session, candidates must fulfill both Eligibility Criteria I & II.

Admission through COMED-K (COMED-K College):

1. Applicants seeking admission under this category must register online through the forms provided on the COMED-K website. Following registration, candidates should regularly check the announcements on the COMED-K website.
2. Candidates are required to have appeared for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Note: As per existing rules, COMEDK will not conduct any Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course).

Admission through Management:

1. Candidates must fulfill all the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
2. It is crucial to note that BMS Educational Trust is not associated with any Agents/Agency for admission-related activities.
3. The following weightage is considered for the determination of the rank list for admission through COMED-K:
4. Architectural Aptitude – NATA: A minimum of 50% of the marks scored by the candidate.
5. Qualifying Examination: At least 50% of the marks scored by the candidate.
6. The prescribed qualifying examination for B. Arch admission includes 2nd PUC [OR] 10+2 higher secondary or an equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject [OR] a 10+3 Diploma recognized by the Central / State Government, securing at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC, ST, and OBC Candidates of Karnataka).

Eligibility for M.  Arch (Habitat Design) Admissions:

Admission to the Master of Architecture Programme is open to candidates who have passed the B.Arch. Examination of VTU or any recognized University/Institution. An Equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities is mandatory for foreign degrees. Candidates with prerequisite degrees obtained through distance mode education are ineligible for admission to M.Arch. Programs under any quota, i.e., Government/Management. 

The qualification awarded by the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) and recognized by COA shall be deemed equivalent to B.Arch. Candidates seeking admission to M. Arch. Programs based on IIA Associateship qualification must qualify for the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET).

Admission to the M.Arch. The program is open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of all years of the degree examination.  However, candidates belonging to SC/ST and Category I should have obtained an aggregate of not less than 45%.

For Admissions through PGCET:

1. Admission can be sought under two categories:
2. Candidates must appear in the PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority).
3. Candidates with a valid GATE score can directly apply for admission.

For Admissions under Management quota:

Candidates meeting the following minimum qualifications may apply for admission to the M.Arch.[Habitat Design] Program under the Management Quota:

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent recognized by COA, New Delhi, with 50% aggregate marks in all years of the B.Arch degree examination (45% for SC, ST, and Category-I candidates).

The candidates should be GATE (Architecture) qualified or should have qualified for the Entrance Examination conducted by an authority recognized by the Government of Karnataka / VTU/ any other University on approval by the Government of Karnataka.  Additionally, an Admissions Committee will conduct interviews to select candidates for admission to the M.Arch program, comprising the College Principal as Chairman, the Head of the concerned Department, and a senior faculty member of the concerned Department or Subject Expert as members.
