B P Marine Academy, Navi Mumbai is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and it's affiliated with Mumbai University.

As per the guidelines outlined in the AICTE Act (1987), the initial five-year period following its establishment in 1988 saw the Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India, serving as the Council's Chairman. Subsequently, on July 2, 1993, the first full-time Chairman was appointed, marking a significant transition. In March 1994, the Council underwent reconstitution for a term of three years. The Executive Committee saw a similar reconstitution on July 7, 1994. Furthermore, during the academic year 1994-95, the All India Board of Studies and Advisory Boards were established. Notably, the Ministry of Human Resource Development's Regional Offices in Kolkata, Chennai, Kanpur, and Mumbai were transferred to AICTE, effective October 1, 1995, with the respective staff members transitioning to the Council on foreign service terms.

B.P. Marine Academy Affiliated with Mumbai University

The University of Mumbai, previously known as the University of Bombay, holds a distinguished status as one of India's oldest and most esteemed institutions of higher education. Its establishment dates back to 1857, following the influential "Wood's Education Dispatch", making it one of the earliest universities in the country. Reflecting the cultural shift from Bombay to Mumbai, the university's name was officially changed to the University of Mumbai through a notification issued by the Government of Maharashtra and published in the Government Gazette on September 4th, 1996.
In recognition of its academic excellence and commitment to quality education, the University of Mumbai was awarded a 5-star status in 2001 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Subsequently, in April 2017, the university achieved the prestigious 'A++' grade status from NAAC, further solidifying its reputation for academic rigor and institutional integrity.

Ranking Of Indian Institute Of Management

  • As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval.
