To be eligible for admission to CMR Institute of Technology's undergraduate engineering programs, students must have:
Passed the 2nd PUC/12th/Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages.
Achieved a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics and Mathematics, along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computers (40% for Karnataka reserved category candidates).
Qualified in one of the following entrance exams: CET/COMED-K/JEE/AIEEE.
Those with a Diploma in Engineering, securing at least 50% in the final examination conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Government of Karnataka, or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to the corresponding branch in the Second Year of engineering. These candidates must take the Diploma CET (DCET) for Diploma students by the CET Cell, Govt. of Karnataka. Seat allotment occurs during centralized counseling.
NRI/Foreign candidates who have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination recognized by AIU with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Electronics/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as optional subjects, along with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in PCM, are eligible for undergraduate engineering programs.

Common Entrance Test (CET):
Conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, this exam is a gateway to securing an engineering seat through the Government quota. Candidates must appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics exams. The choice of colleges is based on CET ranking during counseling.
COMEDK:
Administered by the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, this entrance exam allows students, regardless of their state, to select their preferred college during counseling based on test scores and ranks.
Open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students based on eligibility criteria. Candidates will be selected based on academic merit.
