Established in 1998 under the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya spans a sprawling campus of approximately 247 acres, aiming to evolve into a hub of excellence in Technical Education, Research, and Innovation. Within its purview, the university oversees 05 University Teaching Departments (UTDs), along with 200 affiliated Engineering Colleges, 98 Pharmacy Colleges, 95 MCA Colleges, and 04 Architecture Colleges. These institutions impart undergraduate education across 17 courses, with an additional 85 Polytechnic institutions offering diploma programs in various disciplines, both conventional and emerging. Nestled amidst picturesque and hilly surroundings, the University now extends its offerings to Ph.D. programs, along with 11 postgraduate courses. Rajiv Gandhi Technical University embodies modernization, reflecting its extensive online presence and a diverse range of courses catering to a wide spectrum of interests.
