DY Patil Deemed-To-Be University, School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Navi Mumbai approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and its affiliated DY Patil University's School Of Management.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level Apex Advisory Body. Its primary objectives were to conduct a comprehensive survey of the existing facilities for technical education across the country and to facilitate the coordinated and integrated development of the sector.
The NAAC operates through two main governing bodies: the General Council (GC) and the Executive Committee (EC), which comprise educational administrators, policymakers, and senior academicians representing various segments of the Indian higher education system. The Chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC) serves as the President of the GC of the NAAC, while an eminent academician appointed by the GC President serves as the Chairperson of the EC. The Director serves as the academic and administrative head of the NAAC, holding the position of member-secretary for both the GC and the EC. Apart from these statutory bodies and core staff members who support its activities, the NAAC receives guidance from advisory and consultative committees formed periodically.

As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval.
