The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) stands as an autonomous body under the Government of Maharashtra, entrusted with the regulation of Diploma Level Technical Education across the state. Over the years, MSBTE has distinguished itself through its commitment to curriculum development and the effective implementation of educational strategies. Through faculty development programs, student-centric initiatives, robust industry-institution interactions, academic oversight, and online evaluation mechanisms, MSBTE has continuously strived to uphold excellence in technical education.In response to evolving demands, MSBTE has expanded its scope to include skill development initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to broadening its service offerings. Recognizing the critical importance of aligning curricula with industry expectations, MSBTE has undertaken significant revisions to ensure that diploma students are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for employability. This endeavor, initiated in the academic year 2017-18, underscores MSBTE's dedication to meeting the evolving needs of both students and industries.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promote development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.
