IIIT Guwahati B.Tech Admission 2024:

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IT) offers a B.Tech course with two specializations and an intake of 45 students in Computer Science and Engineering and 35 students in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Applicants who have passed 10+2/ HSC with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of these as optional subjects viz. Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and English as a compulsory language subject from a recognized Board are considered eligible for admission to B.Tech courses. Admission to candidates is given through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) as per the merit of JEE Main conducted by CBSE.

IIIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission 2024:

IIIT Guwahati offers 2-year M.Tech programs to graduate engineering students available in both on-campus and online modes. For admission to the M.Tech course, applicants should have a valid GATE score. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview round by email for final shortlisting.

The university offers two specializations including Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The total intake for both specializations under M.Tech Programmes is 60 each. There is no application fee applicable to apply for the IIT Guwahati M.Tech program.

IIIT Guwahati M.Tech Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate should have passed graduation in BTech/ B.E./ M.Sc. in engineering and science-relevant stream
• The applicants should have scored at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA in their graduation. 
• Candidates appearing in their qualifying degree examinations may also apply for the M.Tech programs, provided they appear in all their qualifying degree examinations and complete all requirements for their degrees.
• If shortlisted, such candidates will be admitted provisionally, and they will have to furnish the results of their qualifying degree examinations.

IIIT Guwahati M.Tech Selection Criteria:

• Fill in the GATE application form from its official site window.
• Appear for the GATE and obtain a valid score.
• After the GATE result is announced, download the scorecard.
• Apply for M.Tech in IIIT Guwahati through the admission portal of its official site.
• Pay the IIIT Guwahati application fee.
• After the list of the shortlisted candidates is released by IIIT Guwahati, submit documents for verification.
• The last step is the payment of course fees for the enrollment of the course. 

IIIT Guwahati Ph.D. Admission 2024:

IIITG runs the Ph.D. program with 7 disciplines for regular, sponsored, and part-time students. Applicants who have passed ME/M. Tech in apt specialization with minimum 60% marks or BE/ B.Tech Degree in relevant discipline with at least 65% marks are considered eligible to get admission in CSE/ ECE disciplines of Ph.D. program.

Students seeking admission to the Economics discipline must have passed the MA in Economics with a minimum of 60% marks. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission in English is an MA in English with at least 55% marks, for Linguistics discipline is an MA in Linguistics with a minimum of 55% marks, for Mathematics minimum eligibility criteria is an M.Sc/ M.Tech in Mathematics with minimum of 60% marks, and for Political Science is MA in Political Science with minimum 60% marks.

Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their academic performance and their selection for admission is done based on their marks obtained in the written test and personal interview conducted by the Institute.

Key Points:

• Post-admission candidates have to appear in the written test conducted by the concerned department to test if the candidate is ready to take up the research work.
• Candidates are shortlisted based on the availability of seats in each specialization and their academic performance.
• A relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates of the SC/ ST/ PD category as per the rules of GOI.

IIIT Guwahati Application Process 2024:

Candidates shall apply separately for the B.Tech and Ph.D. programs. For B.Tech admission, JEE Main qualified candidates have to apply for JoSAA and the Ph.D. course application form can be downloaded from the institute’s website and submitted offline.

For B.Tech

• Visit the website of JoSAA.
• Candidates have to register themselves with their JEE Main roll number, password, and security pin.
• After that, they have to enter their choice of program and institute and lock the choice.
• Take its printout for future reference.
• Make the payment of the fee once the seat is allotted after JoSAA counseling.
