Admissions to all courses offered at JIMS are based on merit. applicants are required to pass tests such as the JIMS Entrance Test (JET) and then an interview. The online or written test of all classes, with the exception of Interior Design and Mass Communication which covers English (Verbal Ability and verbal Reasoning) mathematics (Quantitative Ability), and General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Students who apply to the Interior Design Course undergo a Design Aptitude Test to assess their ability to design designs by using different shapes, and posters as well as sketching. Mass Communication candidates are evaluated on their writing abilities, which are that are related to their media professional abilities.
Note: students who have passed competitive exams such as IP University (CET) and UGAT entrance tests are not required to appear in JET. Admission for these rank holders is based on an individual interview.
