JIPMER offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses including MBBS, MD/MS, and B.Sc/M.Sc programs, along with various diploma and certificate courses. Additionally, the institute provides DM/M.Ch/Fellowship at the super-specialty level and a Ph.D. program at the research level. The JIPMER entrance exam has been replaced by the NEET exam conducted by NTA, followed by counseling sessions.
Admission criteria for different programs at JIPMER are as follows:
- For MBBS, candidates should have passed the 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology. Admission to the MBBS program is based on the NEET exam.
- For MD/MS courses, candidates must hold an MBBS or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.
- For MDS, applicants must possess a BDS or an equivalent degree recognized by the Dental Council of India. Admission to all PG courses is conducted based on the INI CET PG exam.
- Selection for the PhD degree is based on a written examination followed by an interaction with the PhD Admission Committee.
Application process for JIPMER MBBS:
Candidates need to apply online through the official website and register for NEET counseling. They should submit their NEET scores and rankings, selecting JIPMER as one of their options. After the counseling rounds, selected candidates are allocated MBBS seats and required to pay the associated fees.
The application process for JIPMER B.Sc Degree:
Candidates interested in the B.Sc program should visit the official JIPMER website, fill out the application form with the required details, and attach the necessary documents. The selection for B.Sc courses is based on merit, choice, and seat availability. Counseling sessions for B.Sc admissions are conducted in person at JIPMER.
Documents required
- Documents required at the time of admission include valid photo ID proof, NEET (UG) 2024 Exam admit card and result letter issued by NTA, application form for JIPMER BSc Courses 2024, proof of date of birth, qualifying examination pass certificate and mark sheet, character and conduct certificate, Aadhaar card, caste certificate, income certificate, transfer certificate, and COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
- For JIPMER PG admissions, selection is based on the rank obtained in the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET). The application process involves registering for INI CET, submitting necessary documents, paying the application fee, and subsequent counseling rounds for seat allocation and fee payment upon selection. Candidates failing to pay fees promptly risk losing their admission seat.
