Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra offers state-of-the-art hostels at nominal fees, with 24*7 dedicated staff to cater to the students’ requirements. The University has 10 hostels with single, double & triple accommodation. The hostels provide a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard for each student. The hostels are well equipped with a study room, a common telephone facility, recreation facilities as well a television room. Every hostel has its own mess which serves cuisines that suit everyone’s palates as well as ensures nutrition and variety. The manicured lawns and lush green surroundings provide the finest environments where students can concentrate on their studies amidst the calm away from the hustle of the city. The safety and security of the student are always given paramount importance by the hostel staff, wardens, and security which ensure the hostel protocols are adhered to strictly.

An international hostel with air-conditioned rooms, a Wi-Fi facility, attached toilets and shower cubicles; a television room, and laundry services is available for international students. The mess in the international hostel serves food that suits the tastes of students coming in from different countries.

Two more hostels are under construction, out of which one is an apartment hostel with every unit having two bedrooms, living space, kitchenette, and toilet block.

The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra transport department manages a number of different vehicles for the requirements of patients, staff, students, and university officials. The transport department boasts 4 state-of-the-art ambulances, 1 dental van, 2 buses, 1 firefighter, 2 tractors, 1 Honda City, 1 Skoda Superb 1 Maruti Eeco, and 2 Mahindra Bolero vehicles. This huge fleet is managed by a battery of drivers and assistants around the clock. To run such a huge fleet of vehicles in the most economical manner the transport department also operates its own workshop to carry out various minor repairs and scheduled maintenance through its own qualified mechanical team. A washing point equipped with an air compressor helps keep all vehicles in ship shape as well as disinfect ambulances.


A newly constructed air-conditioned auditorium with all the contemporary facilities and a seating capacity of 1000 people was inaugurated on the 31st of March 2012; it witnessed its 1st ceremony by the way of Oath taking ceremony of the 29th batch of RGNM Nursing and 6th Batch of Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Built using the latest in construction business this facility was built in a record time of 3 months. The indigenously built acoustics system saw that the building was well within its budget. The painstakingly and meticulously built interior causes an illusion of a pillarless hall. The auditorium is also supported by a 24*7 generator backup. The major strength of the auditorium lies in its versatility, by virtue of which it can be used for a variety of functions including conferences, seminars, guest speeches, etc.


The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra has its own cafeteria that serves a variety of mouthwatering dishes from local flavors to authentic South Indian and North Indian delicacies. High hygiene standards and ample seating capacity ensure that all visiting guests are served satisfactorily. The campus also has dedicated counters from outlets such as Coffee Beans and Amul. These counters serve food and beverages from these reputed companies. Alongside these counters is a newly opened cake shop that would satisfy the craving for every sweet tooth with its mouthwatering and delicious cakes and pastries.

Banking Services

Krishna Sahakari Bank is a sister concern of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra, and has an extension counter of the bank on campus. This branch not only assists students and staff to maintain savings accounts without having to leave the campus but also carries out various transactions like receiving money from their wards around the country and requesting a demand draft for various payments to be made to the university or the college.

Looking at the varied demographics of people visiting KIMSDU as well as staying on campus, KIMSDU has a 24*7 State Bank of India ATM on campus with two teller machines. With these machines on campus, the students never need to keep too much money on hand.

Hospital kitchen

The Hospital kitchen serves hygienic food for patients and their relatives alike. A conscious decision not to outsource the kitchen helps maintain strict quality and hygiene controls. The kitchen serves everything from early morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. There are separate specially demarcated areas for patients and staff to enjoy their meals.

Apart from the regular meals the kitchen also serves food items as mandated by our in-house dieticians which vary depending on the dietary needs of the patients. All meals served in the canteen are closely monitored by the dieticians for nutritional as well as palatable requirements.

The food served at our hospital kitchen is tasty, hygienic, and prepared with almost care, no wonder many of the university staff love to have their office meals in the kitchen!!!


The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra owns 4 state of the art ambulances and one dental van. All these ambulances are well equipped with various life support equipment and manned by qualified staff and can be used as both patient transport ambulances and emergency ambulances. The ambulances are always on standby to meet any contingency. As a part of its social initiative, the ambulance charges are kept minimal with further discounts for patients with minimalistic means of sustenance.

Blood Bank

The Blood Bank at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Satara, Maharashtra was established in 1984 and in 2003 under the scheme of modernization of blood banks, it was completely revamped to a full-fledged component blood bank now recognized and registered as a Regional Blood Transfusion Center under the State Blood Transfusion Council of Maharashtra. The blood bank is accredited by NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare.

The main function of the blood bank is blood collection, processing of whole blood, preparation of blood components, storage of whole blood components & destruction of contaminated blood.

Central Medical Store

The Central Medical Stores plays a pivotal role in the purchase, repairs, and disposal of unwanted materials. The job responsibility of stores spans every department, constituent colleges, and the hospital. All purchases made at KVV are routed through the CM store so as to streamline the process and keep accountability.

The Central Medical Stores is completely automated with cutting-edge software for inventory management.

Right from capital purchases to consumables, the stores handle all requirements very efficiently. Maintaining accurate inventory, placing orders and follow-ups, repairs to goods purchased, acquiring pre-printed stationary, etc. is all in a day’s work. The store is also responsible for the appropriate disposal of old, unrepairable material on a regular basis. The store boasts over 3300 sq. ft. of warehouse space
