•Eligibility Criteria (Educational Qualification and Resident Status) for admission
•For admission to the Engineering Courses, 85% of seats shall be open for candidates from within the State and 15% shall be open for candidates from outside the State.
•Admission shall be made based on rank of JEE (Main) conducted by CBSE, New Delhi for both 85% quota for residents of Punjab and 15% quota for outside Punjab.
•All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central /state government through legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
•The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination shall also be eligible to appear for counseling based on JEE (Main) merit. The admission of such candidates shall be purely provisional and shall stand canceled if they fail to produce their eligibility at the time of admission and such candidates shall have no claim, whatsoever, for admission to these courses through Counseling.
•Appearing in JEE (Main) shall be compulsory for students claiming seats under 8the 5% quota reserved for Punjab residents and also for students claiming /seats under the 15% quota reserved for those outside Punjab i.e. All India. If a candidate is not able to produce his residence certificate he/she shall be considered for a 15% quota only.
•Admission to the Engineering courses, both for 85% seats for a resident of Punjab and 15% seats for outsiders shall be made strictly based on oEE (Main) and in case seats are not being filled under respective categories, admission may be considered based on of qualifying examination.
•If the candidates who have taken the entrance examination i.e. JEE (Main) are not available, admission can be made based on inter se merit in the qualifying examination.
•All those candidates who have passed the Diploma examination from an AAICTE-approved institution and have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology shall be eligible to apply.
•All those candidates who have passed B.Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply.
•Students, who have passed Ba. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC shall clear subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first-year engineering program along with second-year subjects.
•Students belonging to B.Sc. Stream may further note that they shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
