The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promote development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.

The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) is an autonomous body that governs diploma, post-diploma, and advanced diploma programs in engineering and technology across the state of Maharashtra, India. Established in 1963, MSBTE aims to provide quality technical education and training to students through its affiliated institutions. It designs the curriculum, conducts examinations, and awards certificates for various diploma courses in disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and more.
MSBTE is responsible for overseeing the academic processes of affiliated institutions, including course development, syllabus updates, assessment, and certification.
