The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body with the aim of conducting a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promoting development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University was founded by the Government of Maharashtra through the enactment of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXII of 1989 as a Unitary University. In 2016, the Government of Maharashtra converted it into an Affiliating Technological University under Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXIX of 2014, with jurisdiction spanning the entire state of Maharashtra. Currently, the university affiliates 272 institutes, catering to a total student population of 136,534.

Covering an extensive area of 468 acres, the university's campus serves as a hub of education across Maharashtra. It attracts bright students from all corners of the state, nurturing them into skilled engineers and adept technocrats. Equipped with well-appointed laboratories offering testing and analysis facilities, the university fosters collaboration with industries. As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council is a government organization in India that assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions. It is an autonomous body funded by the University Grants Commission and headquartered in Bangalore.
National Board of Accreditation

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), India was initially established by the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) under section 10(u) of AICTE Act, in the year 1994, in order to assess the qualitative competence of the programs offered by educational institution from diploma level to post-graduate level in engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, architecture and related disciplines, which are approved by AICTE.
