Admission procedure

The academic session of the Institute consists of two semesters. The first semester starts in July and the second semester starts in December.

Admissions to all programs are normally made only at the beginning of the first semester and candidates must join the programs at the commencement of the first semester.

Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the 3-year diploma need to have secured a pass in SSLC ( 10 years of schooling). The Higher Secondary course (Academic & Vocational stream) passed candidates will be admitted in the second year of Diploma Engineering depending on the discipline of the subjects studied in the Higher Secondary course

Lateral Entry Admissions:

For Lateral Entry into the Second year (third semester) of the three-year diploma courses, the candidates shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic Vocational) of 10 plus 2 pattern, with the following conditions:

1. Academic Stream candidates should have compulsorily studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at 10 + 1 level
2. Vocational Stream candidates should have studied either Maths or Physics Chemistry as one of the subjects of study along with the related Vocational Subject (Theory and practical) at 10 + 2 level
3. Their intake is restricted to 20% (10% for Academic+10% for Vocational) of the sanctioned intake of the I-year Diploma Courses. The candidates belonging to Tamilnadu State only are eligible to apply for lateral entry admissions in Government & Government - Aided Institutions. There is no age limit for the admission.
4. Usually, Notification is given for general admission into Government Institutions in leading dailies at the time of publication of +2 results of Tamil Nadu and the last date for receipt of such applications will be fixed somewhere in the last week of May / first week of June. Applications received by the institutions after the prescribed due dates will not be accepted on any grounds.
