Placement Cell

  1. Marthandam College of Engineering and Technology has an independent placement office catering to the needs of organizations in conducting campus interviews. It is headed by Dr.James Wilson B.E.M.I.MarTech.MISTE.Ph.D. is designated as Chairman, of placement & training and he is supported by a placement officer. The placement office ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality for the visiting company officials. The Placement Cell works to zero down the hiatus between the industry and Academia and aims at providing 100 % placement for students in reputed companies. With each batch, there is a steady increase in the number of students, who are placed at various industries from every batch.
  2. The placement office, functions in a separate air-conditioned block with all audio-visual facilities for PPT, Group Discussion, and Interviews and has rapidly progressed over the years enhancing the placement potential effectively. It plays a very important and key role in counseling and guiding the students of college for their successful career placement. The department provides facilities for pre-placement talks, group discussions, written tests, and interviews. There is a set of dedicated faculty members and trainers working exclusively to train the students.
  3. Our students continue to surpass the expectations of the recruiters and bring to the table diverse skill sets that make them assets to any organization, they choose to join. The students are not only professionally competent but also have soft skills, like laudable leadership, good teamwork, creativity, negotiation, and communication. Their hard and soft skills are supported by deep commitment and dynamism. The training modules for our students are designed by experts in parallel with academic curricula, satisfying the industry requirements. Placement training is being provided to the students from the first year itself, thereby making them industry-ready so that they may be placed at the earliest.

  1. Today corporate needs thinking, flexible, proactive workers. They need creative problem solvers, workers smart and skilled enough to move with new technologies and with the ever-changing competitive environment. They need workers accustomed to collaborating with co-workers to participate in quality circles, and to deal with people high and low. Further, communication skills and people skills should be necessary skills of modern workers.
  2. We are committed to meeting the above expectations, as we understand the needs well. How we learn and how we teach are changing drastically and fast according to the developments in the industrial sector, both software and manufacturing, as we want to keep pace with the fast developing world and offer the best human resources to the corporate and industry and in turn make a better Nation.
Personality Development Program

A four-day training program has been given to our final year students by Dr. Shiva, Shiva Foundation, Chennai to improve their behavior, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, attitude towards life, and ethics. 241 students have participated in this program.

Special Communication Program

The Department of English has identified students from the second year onwards and they are being given special training to face the various competitive examinations as well as the campus interview with confidence. Students are encouraged to participate in group discussions, debates, comprehension, and seminars, the other areas covered are situational, English, Basic Grammar as well as pronunciation. Around Sixty students are being trained.

Student Certification Program

We have identified the need and importance of the technical skills of the pre-final year students and organized a technical program on Certificate in Web Application Development using Java Technologies. It is an intensive program designed to rapidly learn J2EE programming. The Course will cover the use of procedural J2EE working with real-world examples and exercises. This would develop the student's technical skills and project competencies. Hundred and Eleven Students are being trained in this program.

Aptitude Training Program

We identified the importance of the program and our students are being trained for attending various competition exams in the Banking Sector, Public and private sector, GATE, TANCET and Campus placement program. Placement Cell has implemented an eighty hours training program for final-year students. This has been done through a series of programs which include Aptitude Classes, General mental ability, and Analytical and logical reasoning. Hundred and seventy students are being trained.

Career counseling Program

To understand the various opportunities, the placement cell has been given career guidance to all the final year students. CAT, GATE. Eligibility Examinations for Higher Studies in Foreign Language (TOFEL, IELTS). Employment opportunities in public Enterprises. UPSC (IAS, IPS, etc.,) TNPSC (Group - I), KPSC ( Group - I) Examinations. Employment opportunities in TCS, INFOSYS, and WIPRO. How to get Placed in a better place in a faster manner.
