The Department of Training and Placement in any college holds a prominent position as it engages in running a gamut of activities intended to provide placement assistance to the students. The department endeavors to equip the 'prospective' employees with the required skills: technical, analytical, quantitative, verbal, reasoning, and soft skills.

Functions and Responsibilities:

• It nurtures Industry Institute interaction, by planning industrial visits, in-plant training, and projects of industrial relevance for the students, with the sole aim of bridging the gap between the industry and the institute.
• It helps every student define his/her career goal through expert counseling.
• It coordinates Campus Recruitment Program, to fulfill its commitment of a job to every 'eligible' aspirant.

At MIC, the Department of Training & Placement has been consistently successful in maintaining high placement statistics over the years despite the various trends in the industry. Our students get placed successfully, year after year, in various MNCs, and it bears witness to the 'training culture' we have nurtured over the years, both through on-campus as well as off-campus training strategies.

The students of MIC are nurtured to be universally compatible to take up challenges in any emerging sector. The corporate preparedness of our students is witnessed by the significantly large number of students that get hired by the recruiters as compared to the other institutes in this area.

Curriculum Enhancement

The curriculum includes more elective subjects to offer students a wider perspective and exposure to emerging technologies.

Student Career Exploration

Students have opportunities to explore sub-areas within their field of study to help them visualize their career paths. Some measures include:

1. Innovative experiments, workshops, and projects.
2. Hosting projects to promote positive learning outcomes and simulate industrial operations.
3. Individual or small group counseling sessions with teachers.

Resource Support

We provide competitive magazines and books for exams like GRE, GATE, TOFEL, IELTS, and CAT, as well as annual books for student utilization.

Outcome

Students utilize the college's infrastructure and training for higher studies to build their careers. The increased number of campus interviews has led to a decrease in the number of students taking exams like GMAT, TOEFL, GRE, IELTS, etc. Nevertheless, many students who do appear for these exams for higher studies abroad have achieved respectable scores over the past three years.

Campus Recruitment Training

Need:

It is a well-known fact that quality manpower feeds and nourishes industries and augments the growth of our economic future. The proportion of Quality manpower in relation to the Quantity is diminishing in all streams of education and Engineering in particular. Entering into a good job or higher education is not sufficient but sustaining it for a long term is the need of the hour.

Objective:

To enhance employability amongst the engineering graduates by imparting required skills for sustained performance and success in career and make them industry ready.

Focus:

To bridge the industry-academia gap by enhancing the competency of the engineering graduates through necessary training in Soft Skills like interpersonal & intrapersonal skills that include communication skills, attitude, behavior, etiquette, time management, goal setting, team work, leadership skills, career planning, and ethics in addition to the technical skills that they acquire through curriculum-based education to facilitate their employability.

Concept & Basis:

To facilitate continuous learning and development of the students from the beginning till the end of the engineering course to provide exposure and an environment to have hands-on experience. Continuous motivation and inspiration to instill confidence and enthusiasm form the basis of this concept.

At present, we offer these classes on a weekly basis right from the first year to the final year in every semester to have continuous training for the placements covering different modules.
