National Institute Of Technology, Uttarakhand(NITU) At the temporary campus located at Govt. Polytechnic, Srinagar (Garhwal) Uttarakhand, NIT UK presently offers seven hostels for male and female students. Embracing the ethos of "Homes away from home," these on-campus hostels provide essential amenities and proper care to the students. The institute can accommodate up to 600 students within these residential facilities.
Comprising five hostels for both genders, the rooms are available on a sharing basis (3-seaters), ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for most institute students. All hostels are equipped with full Wi-Fi connectivity and backed up by continuous power supply through DG sets.
Each hostel is outfitted with adequate security cameras for essential surveillance and safety measures. The campus provides a centralized mess facility for students, excluding first-year students who have a separate dining hall allocated for their meals.
National Institute Of Technology, Uttarakhand(NITU) library operates on an open access system and offers a spacious reading room. It houses an extensive collection of approximately 35,800+ printed books, encompassing over 6,000 titles covering Engineering and Technology, Sciences and Humanities, English Literature, and Fiction.
In addition to printed materials, the library boasts a rich collection of 26,457 E-books from various reputed publishers and subscribes to numerous online databases, enhancing the quality of academic and research work.
Subscriptions to 55 magazines further supplement the academic environment, ensuring students are consistently updated with the latest news and developments, both nationally and internationally.
National Institute Of Technology, Uttarakhand(NITU) boasts both indoor and outdoor sports facilities, catering to various games and sports activities. The institute offers facilities for Football, Cricket, Badminton, table tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Carom, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Chess, among others. The sports area, adjacent to the boys' hostel, is well-equipped to facilitate sports activities at any time.
NIT Uttarakhand oversees sports activities through its sports council, establishing a solid foundation in the field of sports despite being a relatively new institution. The department maintains and provides necessary sports facilities for students and staff.
Auditorium Facilities:
The campus features a versatile auditorium utilized for seminars, workshops, recreational activities, film screenings, and more, accommodating over 300 individuals.
Wi-Fi Facilities:
NIT Uttarakhand's campus is equipped with a technology-rich environment, featuring high-speed, high-capacity gigabit Ethernet fiber optic data network infrastructure. All labs are interconnected for seamless high-speed internet access. Wi-Fi access points are installed in all hostel rooms, allowing students to download essential software and lectures from the institute's FTP server anywhere on campus.
Medical Facilities:
National Institute Of Technology, Uttarakhand dispensary offers primary medical services for students and staff members. A doctor attends to the dispensary's daily services in the evenings, while a nurse remains available on-campus round-the-clock. NIT UK has affiliations with hospitals in Srinagar and Dehradun, providing health insurance facilities to all its students.
Plans are underway to acquire an ambulance shortly. The institute's health facility strives to ensure the well-being of its students and staff, providing basic medical services and referring individuals to the base Hospital, Srinagar (Pauri-Garhwal) for specialized medical treatments when required.
Cafeteria/Mess Facility:
The canteen at the National Institute Of Technology, Uttarakhand, serves cafeteria-style food items at reasonable prices, ensuring the provision of meals within the institute premises.
