NSI centralized Library in the Institute has been established over an area of about 4500 square feet with a facility of centralized air conditioning system. The Library is having over eight thousand books and around five thousand periodical journals including various handbooks on Sugar Technology, Sugar Engineering, and its related field with a facility of Library Automation. In addition to this soft copies of proceedings of various conventions, seminars, and workshops are also available. The students have the facility to use Xerox machines.
NSI computer center has been developed in the institute facilitating 35 students at one time. All the computers in the computer center are having next-generation i-series processors with the latest operating system of Windows i.e Windows 8.1 professional. The center is also provided with high-speed optical fiber-based internet provided by National Knowledge Network.
The prime functions of the Physical Chemistry division are teaching, research, chemical analysis, and advisory to the sugar factories. The division is engaged in extensive research aimed at developing a fundamental understanding and solving complex problems in the physicochemical aspects of sugar manufacture, particularly in the clarification process and color development phenomenon.
These hostels can accommodate more than 400 students. Each hostel has its own common/TV room, mess, and dining hall. The hostels are surrounded by lawns and the area is full of greenery and pollution free.
The classes of the Institute have been converted into the Smart Class. During the Classes, the facility of Internet has been provided to the teachers for effective teaching. Simultaneously the classes are also equipped with modern techniques of the Smart Board and PowerPoint presentation. It has been designed so that the students can be shown Pictures, Videos, and Online Videos for better understanding.
