Facilities and Infrastructure Overview

Residential Accommodations:

National Institute Of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) provides separate residential facilities for both male and female students. Currently, there are six hostels each for boys and girls. Plans are underway to expand the accommodation options within the campus premises in the coming years, with ongoing master planning for additional hostels. Students interested in residing in the hostel need to complete a designated admission form and pay the prescribed fees determined by the relevant authorities.

Library Facilities:

National Institute Of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) library is well-equipped with a substantial collection of resources, housing around 34,000 books and 200 journals. It boasts a well-furnished Reading Room and offers access to various e-journals through the digital library.

Medical Facilities:

National Institute Of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) A well-equipped Medical Unit staffed with senior Medical Officers, Pharmacists, and support personnel is available on campus, offering medical assistance to students, faculty, and other individuals within the campus community.  In case of emergencies, provisions are in place to transport patients to the Jirania Rural Hospital (Primary Health Centre), situated four kilometers away, or to the state hospital in Agartala. 

Banking Services and Postal Facilities:

NIT Agartala hosts branches of the State Bank of India and Canara Bank, both providing ATM services within the premises. Additionally, Punjab & Sindh Bank offers an ATM facility within the Institute's vicinity. Moreover, the Tripura Gramin Bank operates a branch within the Institute Complex. Furthermore, the Institute campus houses a Sub-Post Office named ‘‘NIT, Agartala’’ with the PIN Code 799046.

Extracurricular Engagements:

Students actively partake in a diverse range of co-curricular activities, including sports, techno-cultural festivals, essay and drama competitions, rallies on various themes, and NSS (National Service Scheme) programs.  These activities are sponsored by governmental bodies such as the State Government, Central Government, other statutory organizations, and the Institute administration. Participation in either N.S.S or N.C.C.  is mandatory for all first-year students.
