Orissa College of Engineering offers a B.Tech. degree in 6 different courses. It has two types of B.Tech. programmes. One is a 4-year course for 10+2 passed students and the other one is a 3-year course for 10+3 qualified students who have pursued diploma examinations in engineering from the State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE&VT).

Eligibility

•B.Tech. (4 years) - Passed or appeared in, the 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology/ Geology / Statics. The candidate should have passed individual subjects and must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.

•B.Tech. (Lateral) - For admission into 2nd year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology courses under Lateral Entry for Diploma holders. Passed or appeared in diploma examination in Engineering from State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or equivalent with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

Selection process

•Considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing the All India Rank (AIR) of candidates.

•Candidates have to register for counselling online at the official JoSSA website. Choice filling and locking are mandatory and it is to be done by the candidate only.

•In a decreasing order of preference, branch choices are to be filled.

•Based on the cut-off set by Orissa College of Engineering, seats will be allocated in each round of counselling.

•Use this number while filling out the registration form. The selection of candidates will be scrutinized as on 70% weightage to GATE score and 30% weightage to Interview.

The college offers MBA in 4 different specializations. For MBA admissions, a different centre called Centre for Management Studies has been set up at Jatni, Orissa. The minimum eligibility for admission to an MBA is graduation in any discipline. Orissa Engineering College accepts 15% of students through all India tests like MAT/XAT/CAT, 15% of seats are for NRI students and 70% of students are accepted through the Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE).
