Eligibility Criteria

Higher Secondary Students: 

Candidates must have completed higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent with minimum average marks of 50% for general candidates (45 % for BC including BM, 40% for SC/ ST/ SCA, 40% for MBC DNC) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics from a recognized board

HSC Vocational Group Students: 

Candidates must have completed higher secondary (Vocational Subject) with any one of the subjects related to engineering namely physics, chemistry, or mathematics with at least average marks of 50% for general candidates (45 % for BC including BM, 40% for SC/ ST/ SCA, 40% for MBC DNC)

Selection Criteria

1. The selection is done based on TNEA rank. Candidates can fill out the TNEA application form online. 
2. The rank list of TNEA is prepared based on marks scored by the candidates at the 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 
3. The counseling for TNEA is organized by the Anna University
4. Candidates will get the rank based on merit and need to appear for counseling at the prescribed date, time, and venue with the required documents

Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry:

Candidates must have completed a Diploma in Engineering in the relevant stream with minimum average marks of 55% ((50 % for BC including BM, mere pass for SC/ ST/ SCA, 45% for MBC DNC) in the final year

Candidates must have done Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc.) of minimum duration of 3 years with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the graduation level and should have minimum average marks of 55% ((50 % for BC including BM, mere pass for SC/ ST/ SCA, 45% for MBC DNC) in the final year.

How to Apply for Admission at PIT Chennai?

The admission to PIT Chennai is done based on the TNEA rank organized by Anna University. Previously, Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for admission:

1. Visit the official website of TNEA
2. Candidates have to click on the Online Registration link and register themselves
3. Create a login ID and password through OTP verification. Submit a valid and active email ID and mobile number as these are required for further communication with college
4. After the registration is completed, candidates can log in easily with their user ID and password
5. Fill out all the personal and academic details that are required in the application form
6. Candidates need to verify all the details by using the preview button
7. Take a print copy of the filled application form for further reference
8. Make the payment of the application fee online by credit card/ debit card/ net banking
9. The application forms are scrutinized by the university
10. Anna University will publish a merit list based on the submitted application forms
11. Selected candidates will be called for counseling by the university. Those candidates need to download their counseling call letter from the TNEA official website and appear for counseling
12. Candidates need to select Panimalar Institute of Technology Chennai as the desired institution during counseling
13. Candidates need to carry the following documents during counseling
14. 10th and 12th Mark sheet and certificate
15. Identity proof
16. Domicile certificate
