The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body with the aim of conducting a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promoting development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, established by the Government of Maharashtra under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXII of 1989, initially functioned as a Unitary University. However, in 2016, it was converted to an Affiliating Technological University under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXIX of 2014, extending its jurisdiction to the entire state of Maharashtra. Currently, the university has 272 affiliated institutes with a total student strength of 1,36,534.
The university's expansive 468-acre campus serves as a hub of learning, attracting talented students from across the state. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories offering testing and analysis facilities, the university actively collaborates with industries for mutual benefit. Additionally, the campus boasts amenities such as conference halls, auditoriums, playgrounds, workshops, and computing facilities. Adequate and well-maintained hostel facilities are also available to students.
With a highly qualified faculty dedicated to delivering quality education through effective teaching methods, the university emphasizes academic excellence. Encouraging a culture of research and innovation, the university nurtures entrepreneurship among students. It affiliates institutions offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, pharmacy, architecture, and hotel management & catering technology.
Focused on providing top-notch infrastructure and a conducive academic environment, the university has adopted modern educational practices such as the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and multidisciplinary programs. It boasts efficient governance, support for research activities, a clean and eco-friendly campus, gender-friendly policies, ample co-curricular opportunities, technologically advanced classrooms and laboratories, a well-stocked library, and an incubation center known as the "DBATU Forum of Innovation, Incubation & Enterprise." Furthermore, the university has initiated the implementation of provisions outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was founded in 1994 as an autonomous body under the University Grants Commission (UGC), headquartered in Bengaluru. NAAC's primary goal, as outlined in its vision statement, is to integrate quality assurance into the functioning of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
NAAC operates through its General Council (GC) and Executive Committee (EC), which comprise educational administrators, policymakers, and senior academicians from various sectors of the Indian higher education system. The President of the UGC serves as the President of the GC of NAAC, while an eminent academician nominated by the President of the GC chairs the EC. The Director serves as the academic and administrative head of NAAC and is the member-secretary of both the GC and the EC. Additionally, NAAC receives guidance from advisory and consultative committees formed periodically to advise on its policies and activities.
