Undergraduate (UG) Selection Process:
The selection process for UG courses at Delhi University involves the CUET examinations administered by the university, followed by subsequent e-counseling rounds. Successful candidates in the CUET examinations are mandated to enroll for e-counseling, enabling them to select their preferred colleges through two e-counseling rounds.
The CUET examinations are categorized into three sections:
Section 1: Languages: Split into Sections ‘A’ and ‘B’, encompassing 13 and 20 languages, respectively. Candidates are required to appear in at least one language for admission.
Section 2: Domain Specific: This section offers 27 domain-specific subjects. Candidates should adhere to the program-specific eligibility criteria while selecting domain-specific subjects.
Section 3: General Test: Designed for admission to any UG program offered by the university. Candidates must refer to program-specific eligibility criteria when choosing general tests.
UG Application Process:
- Delhi University announces admission dates and opens a common UG application portal for candidate submissions. The process includes:
- Registration on the common application portal.
- Fill out the Online Application Form with utmost care as changes won't be permitted later.
- Prudent selection of desired colleges and courses for UG programs.
- Attachment of specific documents like photographs, signatures, and identity proof.
- Mandatory payment of the application fee during form submission to validate the Online Application Form.
- Accessing candidate portals for updates, college cutoffs, etc.
- Reporting to the college meeting the cutoff percentage, carrying essential documents such as character certificates, provisional certificates, self-attested photocopies of prior documents, and original marksheets of classes 11 and 12.
Postgraduate (PG) Selection Process:
- PG admission is based on merit and valid CUET PG scores. As per DU guidelines, students who completed their Graduation from DU-affiliated colleges and seek PG admission in the relevant field can opt for merit-based admission. However, candidates from different universities or those with Bachelor’s Degrees in different subjects need to qualify for the DU-conducted entrance exam (CUET PG).
- Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Admission Process 2024:
- Delhi University has introduced the CSAS for UG courses across its affiliated colleges. The process includes:
- Fill out the CSAS application form on the centralized admission portal.
- Selection of courses and college preferences after the CUET examination results are declared.
- Seat allocation is based on merit lists, comprising multiple rounds.
- Confirmation of allotted seats by candidates before the specified deadline, considering factors like the college program combination, candidate position in the merit list, category, and seat availability.
- The university checks eligibility, verifies documents, and confirms admission upon fee payment.

- Candidates seeking admission to Ramjas College must first register for the CUET examination and then apply through Delhi University’s CSAS. The application process for Delhi University UG and PG programs involves:
- Visiting the official CUET UG/PG websites, registering, and proceeding with the application form.
- Filling in personal and academic details, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee.
- Printing and saving a hard copy of the submitted form for future reference.
