SRM Library
SRMIST’s Central Library is a one of it’s kind installation that facilitates teaching, learning and research endeavors of our students, scholars and faculty members. It is one of the foremost such libraries in India’s higher educational system. Our Founder and Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar’s signature efforts are evident in making sure that the sprawling 1.50 Lakh sq ft area library premises is not just a building structure that stores books. It serves more realistically as a space for learning and knowledge exchange with users coming from diverse study and aspirational backgrounds.For a large multidisciplinary higher educational institution, SRMIST’s Central Library is a crown jewel housed in the iconic University Building (UB Block).

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) has an excellent library for the benefit of students, faculties and researchers. As one of the best established libraries according to International Standards, the University Central Library has a large collection of Text and Reference books covering various branches of Engineering and Technology, Medical & Health Sciences, and Science & Humanities and its related fields. The library is nearly three decades old. It is completely automated with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, Centralized Air Conditioned (AC), well protected with CCTV Security systems and fire alarms.

Learning & Fun Beyond Classrooms
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” — The SRM Institute of Science and Technology does not limit learning to textbooks and focuses on the holistic development of its students beyond the four walls of the classrooms! The students are offered opportunities to hone their skills and learn new skills through workshops, sessions and activities which are organised by the clubs. These activities promote students to experiment with their innate potential in a favourable ambience. Joining a club is easy and makes life more rewarding, stimulating and most importantly, fun. It gives students an opportunity to find people with similar interests and passions and allows them to foster them enthusiastically. SRMIST aims at building local and intercultural relationships between students, as well as their own identities, which promotes their well-being and performance over time and broadens their worldview because the mark of true education is the ability to shape students to be better human beings!

Rotaract Club
The club is based on philanthropic values and objectives and aims at bringing together young adults for the benefit and welfare of society. Frontliners aged 18 and older get a chance to trade schemes with headmen in the community and flourish initiatives and professional skills, all while serving the community. Working under the Rotary Club of Meenambakkam, young pioneers of the club make it their mission to achieve sustainable development goals for making lasting positive changes in the world.

Astrophilia
This is a club devoted to studying stars, constellations, planets, galaxies, and all other things which twinkle in the sky. It is where students can learn and spread awareness about space and astronomy through dedicated scientific and philosophical discussions and interactions. It allows amateur astronomists and physics enthusiasts to get to know more about the vast and enigmatic universe and carry forward the legacy of the cosmos.

Fashion
The club provides a place for students to express their inherent artistic flair in the fashion world. They set trends and break them too, thus, genuinely pioneering the meaning of beauty and redefining it. It is here, that students can learn to groom themselves and carry themselves perfectly down a narrow runway, right into the grandiose and glamorous world of fashion.

Music
The club is where students with musical inclinations can come together to display and sharpen their harmonious talents. It helps students to assemble their knowledge of music to create a harmonious crescendo. Being a part of this club is a wonderful opportunity to meet people with varied tastes in music, equally passionate about music, and people who may give you a new perspective on the way you look at the world of symphony.

Literature Club
“The pen is mightier than the sword.” While thought exists, words are alive and literature becomes an escape, not from, but into the living. The club is a utopia for thinkers, readers, and writers; it is where literary minds come together for scholarly brainstorming sessions and discussions; it showers the enchantment of poems, stories, and essays in young minds, thus, giving life to their words, thoughts, and imagination.

Sports
The club looks for zealous and talented sportspersons and aims at promoting team spirit, leadership, and fitness. The students are allowed to participate in a broad variety of sports and recreational activities and to live a balanced life academically, athletically and socially. The club provides the opportunity to athletes from any field to practice, hone and master their athletic prowess. They host numerous competitions around the year for students from all streams.

Movies and Dramatics
The club collaborates with young entertainers to celebrate various aspects of the performing arts. It welcomes students on board who are engrossed to explore more about the thespian world. It aims at finding out the innate artistic talents among students, nurturing them to their fullest, and providing a platform for students who have the talent, confidence and passion to do something unique. Drama Club promotes communication skills, teamwork, dialogue, socialisation, stages terminology, and working on acting skills.

Social Club
The club is dedicated to fostering the spirit of generosity, humility, empathy, camaraderie and social corporation in the youth of the institute, making them aware of their social responsibilities and encouraging them to serve the community. It organises social service events, awareness camps and volunteering events where the young people of the institute can help make the world a bit more tolerant, kind and compassionate.

Gaming
Have high gaming skills but don’t know how to start? The club is devoted to teaching, promoting, and organising e-games and e-gaming tournaments. The club helps students learn the required techniques, hacks, and tricks to thoroughly enjoy e-games and give a sense of accomplishment and progression in life.

Accommodation & Facilities
We, at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), provide a wide choice in selecting the type or rooms in a hostel to suit every budget, with an aim of providing a decent stay and the best possible learning environment.

The quality of life is one of the most important factors considered by the students deciding to stay in the College/University hostels. By quality, it is not just the rooms but also the overall environment of the University campus. Ours is one of the greenest Campuses’ in the country with all the facilities that are expected from global Universities. The stay at our campus provides a wealth of experience by developing qualities such as camaraderie and social responsibility. Our students comprise a cosmopolitan mix from all parts of India as well as many countries across the globe. 

The students staying at SRM hostels are provided with healthy and sumptuous food options at highly subsidized rates. They can choose to have North Indian or South Indian menu in the dining halls that are co-located. For the benefit of our international students, the hostels also offer a multi-cuisine dining facility providing Thai, Chinese and continental food.

Life on campus helps the students not only to study but also to socialize with the peers. Friendships formed on the campus last a lifetime. SRM provides a comfortable and safe housing to all its students. The students housed in the campus are encouraged to use the gymnasium, playground, and all indoor gaming facilities.

Girls Hostel
Senbagam girls Hostel has Ground plus 5 floors. This fully furnished hostel provides a comfortable stay, with a safe and a conducive environment for the girl students. For the safety of girls, it is equipped with 24 * 7 surveillance cameras, security guards and biometric attendance.  This hostel provides WiFi, power backup and purified water facility. Students can spend their leisure time in the TV hall. Eatery shops, Photocopier service are also available near the block.
Senbagam block is a north facing building, with a dining hall in the ground floor. Rooms are furnished with a bed, wardrobe, study table, and chair.  The rooms are spacious and are available on triple sharing and six sharing basis.  Common bathrooms with cold and hot water facility are available. The block can house above 400 students.

Boys Hostel
A man of courage is a man with good character deriving from deep-rooted godliness. The value of a man is not his financial equities but it is his character. A man of valor teaches others by demonstration what magnanimity is like. Oori known for his valor was said to have killed a lion, bear, deer and a boar with a single arrow. Inspired by his defiance, the hostel was named after the great philanthropist, Valvil Oori. It was constructed in the year 2008 and can house a maximum of 930 students.
