Sharaf Arts & Science College is a self-financing institution approved by Govt. of Kerala and affiliated with Kannur University.  The college is run by the Khidmath Organisation of Padne.  ( Shortly known as KOP).  The difficulties experienced by the students especially Muslim girls of this area and the neighboring areas in getting a higher education and the aspiration of the members of KOP to elevate them from this dismal state paved the way for the realization of a long-cherished dream of establishing this institution in the year 2003.

The college strives for the promotion of academic excellence and provides quality education to those who seek it.  The college has been developing into a modern seat of learning, keeping abreast of the new trends in higher education.  Thus, within a short span of time, the college has earned a good reputation as an institution imparting excellent education under the leadership and guidance of the Principal Prof.M.A.H.Khan who was the former Principal of Mahatma Gandhi College, Iritty, and former member of the syndicate, Kannur University.
