Admissions for various courses are done according to the guidelines of AICTE and Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Admissions are done on the basis of merit in UPSEE-UPTU (Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Admission Test).

3. Admissions to the B.Tech, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, MBA, and MCA programs are mainly done based on merit in the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) conducted by Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University.
4. For the B.Tech, aspirants may also appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) conducted by CBSE.
5. For an MBA, the eligible candidates may also appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT) or Management Aptitude Test (MAT).
6. Admission to BBA, BCA, and B.Ed programs is done based on merit in a pre-qualifying examination followed by a counseling round.
7. Admission to M.Tech is done on the basis of marks scored in the General Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

At the undergraduate level, SSITM offers four-year B.Tech and B.Pharm degree programs. B.Tech is offered under nine different specializations. The institute also gives admission in the second year of both of the courses.
For admission to the first year of B.Tech and B.Pharm, candidates must have passed the 10+2 level examination or its equivalent Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from any recognized Board / University and secure a minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates). Candidates interested in these courses must have to appear in UPSEE.
Key Points:
1. For B.Tech lateral entry, a three-year Diploma in a relevant field, and minimum of 60% marks in aggregate, and a minimum of 40% marks in Mathematics (35% in SC / ST) are required to be eligible.
2. 85% of the seats are filled by the University through UPSEE counseling depending on the rank obtained by the student.
3. The remaining 15% of seats (Management Quota) are filled by the colleges through Direct admissions as per AKTU guidelines.
4. A 5% mark relaxation in the eligibility criteria will be given for the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories.

Apart from the B.Tech and B.Pharm, the institute also offers three other undergraduate courses focusing on the area of Education, Computer Applications, and Management Studies, leading to B.Ed., BCA, and BBA degrees respectively. The annual intake for the BBA and BCA is 60 seats each whereas the number of seats available for the B.Ed. is 100 seats.
Candidates applying for the BBA, BCA, and B.Ed. courses have to go through Counselling rounds conducted by the institute. However, they must have to pass in 10+2 level or equivalent examinations in relevant subjects for BBA and BCA and have a graduate degree in any discipline for B.Ed. Admissions are done on the basis of merit in qualifying examinations.

At the postgraduate level, SSITM offers two-year M.Tech and M.Pharm to aspiring candidates. M.Tech is offered under five different specializations whereas M.Pharm is provided with three specializations. The annual intake capacity for the M.Tech and M.Pharm courses is 18 seats for each specialization.
To be considered eligible for M.Tech, candidates must have a B.E. /B.Tech degree in the relevant specialization and must have obtained at least 60% marks (50% marks in the case of SC / ST). To apply for the M.Pharm program, a candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy with a minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC / ST).
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will have to appear in GATE to get admission to M.Tech. Admission to M.Pharm is done on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination. Preference will be given to the candidates holding a GPAT score.

SSITM offers two other postgraduate-level courses focusing on the area of Business Administration and Computer Application. MBA is provided in five different branches of Management Studies. The total intake capacity for MBA is 120 seats whereas for MCA, the number of available seats is 60.
For MBA admission, a candidate must have passed a minimum three-year Bachelor's degree course from any recognized university and secured a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate without any grace marks. The relative merit shall be decided based on an aggregate of qualifying examinations and valid UPSEE/ CMAT/ XAT/ MAT or any other National Level Exam.
MCA aspirants must have passed a Bachelor's degree course with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate and must have studied Mathematics in 10+2 or graduation. Selection will be based on UPSEE. The final merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the entrance examination as well as in the previous qualifying examination.
Key Points:
Preferences shall be given to the candidates having a valid CAT/MAT score.
5% marks relaxation in the eligibility criteria is given to the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories.
