Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic Placement

S.B.M. Polytechnic offers seven sandwich pattern four-year full-time and two three-year diploma courses that are in Engineering / Technology. Every year, more than 240 learners are enrolled for in-plant training in different industries over two phases. From the beginning of the first 90 pupils in 1971 more than 17000 students have completed six months of Inplant Training in over 200 different industries to date. A majority of students opt to pursue Higher Education after completing their Diploma. Students who apply to apply for jobs following the completion of a Diploma receive special instruction in soft skills and are subsequently screened on campus for employment through a recruitment process.

SBMP, Mumbai Placement process

Step 1: Training and Preparation
To kickstart the placement process, students undergo thorough training sessions aimed at enhancing their employability skills. This comprehensive training encompasses various aspects including resume building, interview preparation, honing communication skills, and gaining industry-specific knowledge. By providing students with these essential tools, the training equips them with the confidence and capabilities to excel in interviews and secure promising job offers.

Step 2: Registration
Students keen on participating in the placement process are required to register with the college's dedicated placement cell. This registration process typically involves submitting their updated resumes along with other relevant documents showcasing their qualifications and experiences.

Step 3: Job Notifications
The placement cell regularly disseminates job openings and internship opportunities to registered students. These notifications furnish comprehensive details such as job descriptions, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines, aiding students in making informed decisions regarding their career prospects.

Step 4: Application Submission
Upon receipt of job notifications, interested students proceed to submit their applications through the placement cell. Careful attention is paid to aligning their resumes and cover letters with the specific job requirements, ensuring a tailored and compelling application.

Step 5: Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs)
Before the commencement of the recruitment process, companies often conduct pre-placement talks (PPTs) to provide students with insights into their organizational culture, job roles, and growth opportunities. These interactive sessions serve as valuable platforms for students to engage with company representatives and gain a deeper understanding of potential career paths.

Step 6: Written Tests and Assessments
Some companies may administer written tests or online assessments to evaluate candidates' technical acumen, aptitude, and problem-solving abilities. In anticipation of these assessments, students engage in rigorous preparation to effectively demonstrate their competencies and suitability for the roles.

Step 7: Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI)
Candidates who successfully navigate the initial screening rounds may progress to group discussions and personal interviews. During group discussions, students participate in constructive dialogues on pertinent topics, showcasing their communication and leadership prowess. Personal interviews provide candidates with an opportunity to further highlight their qualifications, experiences, and alignment with the company's ethos and requirements.

Step 8: Offer Letters
Upon impressing recruiters during the interview process, successful candidates receive offer letters detailing the terms and conditions of employment. Step 9: Placement Confirmation
Upon accepting job offers, students notify the placement cell, thereby confirming their placements.
