The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promote development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.

SSCET Affiliated With DBATU

Established under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act, No. XXII of 1989 by the Government of Maharashtra, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (BATU) began its journey as a Unitary University. Subsequently, recognizing its potential to serve as a hub of technological education, the Government of Maharashtra transformed BATU into an Affiliating Technological University in 2016 under Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Act No. XXIX of 2014. With its jurisdiction spanning the entire state of Maharashtra, BATU currently affiliates with 272 institutes, catering to a student population of 1,36,534.
