The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body with the aim of conducting a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promoting development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.
SSP Recognized by the DTE
The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, is tasked with formulating policies, rules, and guidelines in alignment with directives from both the State and Central Governments, and subsequently implementing them. Operating under its purview, approximately 1600 Technical Institutions are distributed throughout Maharashtra. These institutions are overseen by six regional Technical Education Offices located in Amravati, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune.

The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) operates as an autonomous body under the Government of Maharashtra, entrusted with the regulation of Diploma Level Technical education within the state. Throughout its tenure, MSBTE has prioritized curriculum development and its effective implementation through various means such as faculty development programs, student initiatives, industry collaborations, academic oversight, and online evaluation activities. In recent times, MSBTE has expanded its scope to include skill development initiatives, thereby diversifying its range of services. Recognizing the evolving needs of the industry, MSBTE has also undertaken the crucial task of revising curricula to align with industry expectations, a move aimed at enhancing employability prospects for diploma students. This revision was successfully implemented starting from the academic year 2017-18. Drawing from close involvement with the educational system and informed by feedback from stakeholders, there is a commitment to streamline processes and embrace advanced technological solutions for improved implementation and evaluation, ultimately benefiting the students and all stakeholders involved.
