Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) offers a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at the undergraduate level, featuring specializations in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Communication Design, and Fashion Communication. Aspiring candidates must participate in the entrance examination to be eligible for admission to the B.Des course.

B.Des Eligibility Criteria:

1. To be eligible for admission to the B.Des course at Symbiosis Institute of Design, candidates must meet the following criteria:

3. Completed a 10+3 Diploma with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) approved by the State Board of Technical Education, OR
4. Students in the final year of the 10+2 & 10+3 education system.

B.Des Selection Criteria:

The selection process involves the following steps:

1. Candidates appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) and qualify with a valid score. SEED is an online one-hour exam conducted between 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, consisting of 60 questions in various formats.
2. Qualifying candidates proceed to SID's Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.
3. Candidates upload their portfolios one day before the PRPI, including sketches, digital work, 2D and 3D articles, and other relevant materials.
4. Candidates perform a PRPI task within three days and upload it one day before the PRPI round.
5. The final step is the PRPI round, and admission is granted based on SEED, PRPI Task, Portfolio Review, and Personal Interaction.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Application Process 2024:

Admission to the B.Des course is based on merit in the SEED. The registration fee for the SID Admission process is INR 3,250, comprising INR 2,250 for SEED and INR 1,000 for SID.

1. Visit the official website https://www.sid.edu.in/.
2. Choose "B.Des 2024 Registration Open" under the announcements section on the homepage.
3. Click on "Register for new user registration."
4. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
5. Fill in the required details and change the password.
6. Submit the registration and a registration ID will be displayed.
7. After registration, an email containing the ID and password will be sent.
8. Proceed to the payment portal. The non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee is paid via Billdesk Payment Gateway.

Important Note: Applicants need to upload a photo ID proof with a recent photograph (not exceeding 150 kb). Additionally, 10th and 12th-grade marksheets should be submitted along with the ID proof.
